Cooking & Eating:

  • Made Chinese chive dumplings cuz I got them for $1/kg at the farmers market.
  • Rich with a dozen mangos I got for $10!
  • d’s dinner made me realize I was craving German food and how simple it is to make. He boiled potatoes, Chinese radish, and sausages. Made a cream sauce with sautéed onions, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Gut!
  • Baked chocolate madeleines in financier molds.
  • Haven’t had Laksa in a while at this place (which we had once, years ago). When asked why d got Hainanese Chicken, he made a good point, “Don’t you find Laksa looking more flavorful than it actually does? It’s a bit disappointing.”
  • Found out I picked a beer, Eggenberg Urbock 23°, from p’s hometown, Graz!

Happening: (WIP)

  • Built a paper robin with paper glue, and floss picks.
  • For Q2 team-building, we grabbed burgers and did an escape room with my boss-boss and PM sisters. The setup was a 20th-century Western saloon where we had to beat a group of (imaginary) gangsters to a hidden pot of gold. To be a little overly self-confident, the puzzles were pretty formulaic: clues hidden in poster fonts, number-shaped patterns, and magnets used to unlock boxes. In fact, we gave the creators way too much credit and should’ve just squinted our way through the thing like it was a giant optical illusion. The signs would’ve been clearer.
  • Had drinks and Mediterranean food with the company gang (the og 4+1) just like the old days, except we no longer do over 3 drinks or bar hopping, at least not on a Tuesday. Although there wasn’t much to catch up on, I received news I needed confirmation on.
  • d chuckles at all my work relations. This Thursday, I sat down with Mr. X for a sip of w and b¹, chatting up about unromantic questions and the US’s greatest ally.

Editing:

  • Vibe coded hover + shaded effect for hyperlinks
  • Created layout = internet-clipping
  • Drafted homepage intro, about me, fun facts
  • Added underline for hyperlinks
  • Removed the underline for links on homepage
  • Add margin below homepage header
  • Couldn’t decide with bullet points on homepage
  • Created tag: internet-clippings, random
  • Found a site for generating superscripts
  • Established a grassy floral footnote-breaker

Replacing:

  • I trained four task-specific agents/chatrooms at work! Another wake-up call that 40% of my work is completely replaceable after just 6hrs of bot training+ raised tones
  • Instructed g exactly which column to paste from one to the other. Imagine describing how xlookup works, except now the lookup_value and lookup_array can be fluid and (messy) text-based
  • g is like the engineer who’d go through the spec with no further questions and produce an outcome that misses a critical mark. I’d respond with a cold, “No, that’s not it,” and g will gladly redo, still no questions asked, unless I prompt so
