Watched Love Island S8E19, Temperature Rising Challenge. and was convinced the producers explicitly encouraged the orgy scenes. Seriously, what did I just watch?
That wasn’t the same challenge at all. Half the things they did make my heart rate rise, cuz of how embarrassing the optics looked–the boys grinding and rubbing excessively and girls unable to hide the disgust over their hair.
The heart rate reveal used to come at the very end at the fire pit and with rankings, so in the challenge, there was room for speculation and playful curiosity about what got each others’ pulse racing. The bystanders’ rates would also be recorded and often even higher than the ones participating. (More fun to watch, I think we all get it.)
But then they had to introduce the rigged pole light meter that instantly signaled the contestants an accumulated heart rate meter, so they confused rubbing for sexy foreplay. I could only imagine the producers pressing a light up button for every cringe or overly sexual action.
Also, what even is a Nibble?? The categories made zero sense.
