It’s never been more imperative to teach journalism basics to general education students; it’s never been more useless to specialize in journalism.
Like language is a tool not skill, especially not in the AI era, but wtf, I still feel it imperative to learn how to fact check (remember when we were told Wiki ain’t reliable), hear out important stories, and interpret the news.
Media literary is on the decline and I believe a lot to do with the source! Narratives are more skewed and one sided and we don’t even realize cuz we’re only capable of reading AI excerpts now.
