A: Rape is violence that uses sex as a weapon.
To assert dominance, sexual entitlement to women, or against men for terror, humiliation (prisons).
To note:
- marital rape is illegal
- benevolence sexism
- alcohol doesn’t make a rapist; hinders perception.
- myth of the monster: often someone we know or the nice guy
- moral policing women
- teach consent, respect and tell bystanders to act
Man Camp:
- away from their family
- in a place where they have anonymity
- in a place where can act with impunity
- entitlement to women’s bodies
Men consistently overestimate how comfortable other men are with sexist comments and coercive behavior.
